10 May 2007, Lance Cpl. Daniel Dalton from 2d Squad, 2d Platoon, Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 2d Marine Regiment clears the second floor of a building in Ar Rutbah, Iraq. Marines with Alpha Company conduct security patrols to disrupt insurgents' capabilities to communicate. 1/2 is deployed with Multi National Forces-West in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq to develop Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
